AfricaRise is a curated multi-designer marketplace for premium African fashion and accessories. Here are the essentials — sizing, shipping, returns and care — so you can shop with confidence.

Sizing & fit

AfricaRise brings together many independent designers, so sizing and fit vary from one label to the next. A detailed size guide is on the way. In the meantime, if you would like help choosing the right size for a particular piece, email us and we will gladly guide you.

Shipping

We offer free standard shipping within South Africa, with no minimum spend.

We ship worldwide. Shipping fees for international orders are calculated automatically at checkout, based on your delivery address. Any import duties or taxes on international orders are the responsibility of the customer.

Returns & exchanges

We have a 30-day return policy: you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible, your item must be unworn or unused, with tags and in its original packaging, along with your proof of purchase.

To start a return, email returns@africariseonline.co.za. Returns are sent to: 66 Anderson Street, Marshalltown, Johannesburg, 2001, South Africa.

Please note that we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get exactly what you want is to return the item you have and, once the return is accepted, place a new order for your preferred piece.

Payments

Checkout is secure. Your payment details are encrypted and handled safely at the point of purchase.

Garment care

Every piece is made by an individual designer, so always follow the care label on your garment first. As a general guide:

  • Wash gently — many statement and delicate fabrics prefer hand-washing in cool water, or a cold, gentle machine cycle.
  • Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach.
  • Reshape while damp and dry flat, away from direct sunlight, to protect colour and structure.
  • Iron on a low heat, ideally inside-out, and steam rather than press where you can.
  • For tailored, embellished or specialist fabrics, professional dry cleaning is the safest choice.
